Welcome to www.frame-poythress.org

Vern Poythress writes: In 1971 I enrolled at Westminster Theological Seminary, where I had the privilege of sitting under the teaching of Prof. John Frame along with other Westminster faculty. Since then the two of us have had a close theological affinity. Later, when I began teaching at Westminster in 1976, the two of us belonged to the same faculty. Now the two of us teach at two different institutions, Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia (Poythress) and Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando (Frame). But the theological affinity has continued in our teaching and writings. So it seems fitting that this website includes writings from both of us. The goal is to make our writings accessible on the internet.

John Frame writes:  When Vern Poythress came to study with us at Westminster Seminary, I must have felt a bit like Plato teaching Aristotle, or Bertrand Russell teaching Ludwig Wittgenstein. Very quickly, my student became my colleague and my teacher. Then and through the years, I have learned at least as much from him as he has learned from me. With his background in mathematics, science, linguistics, and biblical studies, he has expanded some of our shared “perspectives” into a great many areas. His writings are brilliant and motivated by a godly spirit. His work demonstrates that one can write with fascinating originality, while remaining solidly within the bounds of Scripture and Reformed orthodoxy. So I am very pleased to be able to share a web site with him.
